Ongline Podcast documents the life of a gay Malaysian-born Chinese living in the United States. Immerse yourself in the life of a not-so-typical individual. Expand your horizon by experiencing the topics, issues, stories, and simply, the life of a gay Asian man. Until now, the voice of a minority individual has not been this loud!

Adam,

I can't imagine myself without those crazy laughs either. Thanks for your comment. And for sharing your partner's observations.

Steve,

John (from Canada),
THanks for your comment. Depending on your computer plateform, I can definitely recommend several software for creating podcasts. If you are on a PC, Castblaster is pretty good.
If you are on a Mac, and have iLife 06, you can use GarageBand to record your podcast. Or you can use Podcast Maker by Potion Factory (friend of our listener Steve Harris)

There is no John Ong without the laugh, how ignorant those people were.

An anecdote that is hopeful: At SMU, the university where my partner teaches, there was an article in the school paper written by a freshman to the affect that gay people were okay as long as they weren't so flamboyant. Well the student body responded to this article with an overwhelming response, saying how ignorant and backhanded his "acceptance" of gay people was. My partner teaches a contemporary moral problems class at this university and he teaches gay marriage in this class in addition to other hot button topics like abortion, animal rights, the death penalty, etc. Every year he notices that his students are more and more accepting of gay people and almost all of them, save a few children of wingnuts, are perplexed as to why anyone would want to ban anybody from getting married. It is from my partner's experience with his students that I have optomism for the future.

Hi John

I wanted to tell you that your podcasts involving Bishop Gumbleton were very enlightening. I am a former Roman Catholic, who left the church because of the extreme homophobic ideas held by the church. I am planning to burn the Bishop's talk to a CD and give it to my homophobic Catholic department head, and hopefully he will pass it on to the new priests that are coming into the main RC church in my city.

I also wanted to tell you that your podcast has inspired me to want to start a gay canadian podcast. Any thoughts of how to do this would be appreciated.

Take care

Yay. Keep us posted. We'll all root for you.

You tell them, girl! You're not even that sissy as far as sissies go (who said Ragan Fox?!), but that's not the point. People should like you for who you are.

I can well imagine the impression that made when you're 13/14. I'm going through a similar sort of thing, trying to be the real me, not what others want (or what I think they want) me to be. For me, it's about being honest and not worrying what other people think so much.

Hi John -

I posted my gallery of Gay Games pics that I have taken so far. Unlabeled, and they are in Chronological order. Pics of me and my tennis partner for doubles at the end.

Here is the link - not visible right now from my gallery page from my website.

Again...thanks for the "blessing"
