I really loved this show because it showed your honest feelings about things. I have done the same thing for my show but then I change my mind about posting them. I shouldn’t second guess myself and neither should you. You are a great inspiration to many people and thank you for playing my message. As you talked about the award and I know in the big picture of things it truly means nothing but for me I was nominated by people who enjoy my show and have been able to get something positive out of it and so I was honored to be among those five people. I am honored to have met some truly wonderful people (that includes you) from the podcasting world and it gives me energy to keep doing the best I can.

John, you clearly inspire so many others and hey, you may never know about everything you influence or everyone you touch. It’s funny, but I felt like we were friends before we even knew each other, just because you’re so open and honest and stuff and it was a real comfort to me to be able to listen to someone like that. More than anything you really cheered me up when I was down.

Also, I know you’re feeling under the weather today so I hope you feel better soon. Love you, whore.

You and I think a lot alike… things sometime seem a bit trivial compared to what is going on in the world. But you know what? It’s about making a difference and touching the people around you. You can do it by doing something nice to another person. Have you seen the Liberty Mutual commercial? Liberty Mutual has, not only an effective commercial, but also an inspiring one. The message is about social responsibility and features Hem’s song ‘Half Acre.’ In it, a person witnesses an act of kindness or good deed and goes on later to do something nice for a total stranger, who in turn, does something nice for someone else, and so on. That commercial always brings a tear to my eye.

Now if you want to make a difference in the world, you can do it by speaking up and speaking out on issues. Silence changes nothing.

As for why we don’t see the images on Iraq while we are seeing it in Lebanon…the fact is that journalists can’t go out and report because if the crappy security situation outside the Green Zone. Reporters fear for their own safety. In Lebanon, journalists can go out and report without fear of being kidnapped or murdered. Big difference.

I think you really said it best today, although I can’t remember your exact words but whenever you were talking about how churches speak so passionately about keeping “the gays” from marrying and how they’ll talk so passionately about that, yet, they won’t speak with passion about the war.
