  1. Kenny & Jeff Says:

    Hey John,

Congratulations on the article in The Star. We are so glad that we have someone famous as our friend. BTW you forget to mention about Chef Wan from the Kuali cooking show….totally “family”…:)

  2. John Ong Says:

Oh that’s right! Chef Wan. In fact, he would “latah” on his show too.

  3. Brad Says:

    Hey John…

Congrats on the mention in the newspaper. Even though we could only hear you, your smile and happiness managed to make its way to us. I’ve been kind of down in the dumps lately, so hearing some good news from a friend is always heartwarming.

Was planning on starting the podcast this week, but i don’t want the 1st show to be a downer…so I’ll keep tweaking my new website until I am a bit more up.

Take care…and again…congratulations! I hope you’ll rememeber us little people when you get big. ;)

  4. Brad Says:

Oh…you are on Central time right? All of your comment postings are off by an hour, probably because of Daylight Savings Time. Change “time” under Options to -5 and you should be in synch with Central Daylight Time

  5. John Ong Says:

Yeah, I’m in Central. I was too lazy to switch it. Oy. But I did it finally. I have been thinking about it for a while, but never got around to do it. I did it all for you Brad! Hope you’re feeling better.

  6. Brad Says:

**MUAH** to my favorite media whore.
One little ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Actually, you are more like 1000 rays. Thanks for being an inspiration and for just – being you.

  7. Brad Says:

Um – just read the article…

“Red Buns”? Is there a story behind that? Is this a food reference or something else? Anything you’d like to tell or show us? ;)

  8. Steve Says:

Miss Penang just keeps getting bigger and bigger!

Congrats, whore, you did a good job of reliving your excitement here and in talking about another 200 things simultaneously! ;)

  9. John Ong Says:

Brad, the red buns. I don’t know the story behind it. I’ll find out, and when I do, I’ll talk about it. For now, it’s just something that my face resembles.

    Steve, thanks honey.
Everyone knows I don’t have a problem getting bigger. WIth the rate I’m going right now, I’d probably be enormous next year. Fat that is.

  10. VJnet Says:

Congrats, John! But don’t let all the fat go to your head ;-) I love the photo discription of you in your “basement room-cum-studio” lol. I’m so excited for you, too :D

  11. Vincent Says:

Being a Penang Hokkien listener as well, u made me feel proud, & my name ( Nickname : Wantan) was mentioned in the paper too :-) oh I feel like a celebrity now :-)

  12. David aka AngKu Says:

Hi Wantan, you are here also : )
    I saw that artical too,
I like my nickname (red tortoise cake) as well… haha ; )
