Sounds like the two of you had a wonderful vacation in North Carolina. Thanks for sharing with us John. And Bruce too. We are all thankful for you.
I’ve been listening to many of the podcasters linked here on your blog. Very curious about Archer. He is most prolific in his output of shows. I’m so trying to get away from political shows, but I did do one of the more lively of live shows on Saturday last. More blog drama in my fav blog, http://morningseditionists.com/msblog and I am catching much of the blame. One Seattle blogger has left the blog because of it and describes me as a “bitchy gay guy”. Oh my! So I think I’m the only gay guy on this liberal blog. At least the only one willing to admit same. N e way. I’ve always been up front with my opinions. I think that is the way to be. That is who I am as a person. Not always so entertaining. Somewhat humdrum. I aspire to be like you John. The love you exude is real and that is what makes you so special and makes me look forward to each of your podcasts. Keep em coming! We’re here and we always will be here for you John. Always a friend, Nick.
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words. I agree. Being yourself is more important. Being someone else so that you’ll be liked by a few is tiring, fake, and useless. I appreciate your honestly and spirit of activism. Thanks for your friendship and support to the podcast.
I loved listening to this with the waves crashing onto the beach. Otherwise it was so quiet where you were I could easily imagine looking up at the stars and chilling out (in more ways than one!) while taking stock of things. Thanks, Johnwhore.
Hi John-
Loved the sound of the waves on the stereo microphone. I often go to the beach (Lake Michigan here in Chicago – about 3 blocks from my condo) to just stare at the waves sometime and clear my mind.
I really like this podcast…you talked a lot about the holidays and how hard it is on single people sometimes. I could tell you were getting emotional about it, even though you are lucky enough to have a partner. This year seems to be getting tougher on me personally…I guess it’s just the hopeless romantic in me. I’m debating whether to talk about it on my show, because it can be a bit of a downer. I am lucky to have friends like you for emotional support. Come to think of it, most of my really good friends are the ones in stable relationships and they are the ones reaching out to me. Do we forge good friendships like this because they are non-threatening and don’t tend to judge you or is it more like you are aspiring to be like that person in a stable relationship..
I’m rambling, but it is an interesting psychological question. Know any good therapists? Sounds like I need one. 😉
Thanks for the nice relaxing, contemplative show.
Brad, you are very welcome. And thanks again for the kind words.
If you are comfortable talking about your feelings. I think it’s going to be great. I don’t think too much when I do a show. I don’t think of inspiring or guiding. I merely open up a small part of myself and my life to hopefully touch or connect with other people.
Sharing our personal struggles and triumph will be a good source of inspiration. Don’t hold back. As long as you don’t think that it’s too personal to be on the web. Don’t worry about boring your listeners, or your show being a downer. It is usually shows like this, honest and open that get the best response.
This episode is definitely one of those. Simple life, speak from the heart, that usually takes care of touching another person. Not to inspire, not to guide, but to touch another person because they can relate. I thank you for your friendship and support too.
Steve, thanks for comment, and support. I appreciate your friendship…whore!
