I hope your asthma is doing better. It’s so funny when you keep hearing things. I didn’t hear anything any of the times you thought you heard something.

    Have fun at Podcamp!

Yes, you are correct. I podcast for the fun of it. For a hobby. I don’t ever plan on getting paid for podcasting. I also agree with you about personal journal podcasts. I think you hit it on the head.

    Happy Valentine’s Day to you!

I agree with you John that one need not reveal the innermost intimate parts of their lives with the listeners to be considered a “personal journal podcast.” I do however think that the category has been diluted to the point that it really doesn’t mean anything anymore. The point in a category (I thought) was to direct potential listeners to those categories one finds most interesting. However one must sift through a litany of podcasts that would ideally be better described in categories such as “comedy” or “news” before one finds what I define as a “personal journal” podcast. I never mentioned Q cast connection in my podcast or criticized its content. It was however mentioned in a comment by one of my listeners as morphing from its original concept of a personal journal to what it is today or so says my listener. Since I only listen to your podcast John I could not speak of Q cast here. I’m not out to be a critic of anyone’s podcast. I’m merely stating my belief that there are few true personal journal podcasts out there perhaps this because it does in its purist form demand total honesty and respect for the listener. The reason I am no longer listed in iTunes is because I felt it unfair that I had to compete with podcasts that I did not feel represented personal journals. iTunes would do better to change the personal journal category to a generic “Gay” podcast category in its current state. Maybe I’m being to strict here in my definition. But I think it makes it easier on the listener to hone in on what he or she is seeking. Is there something wrong in that? My podcasts have been vilified for concentrating to much on my sexual self. But any of my loyal listeners (I think) would find more there than just sex. I think you’d have to agree John that I’ve revealed some very private (non-sexual) thoughts here, for better or for worse. The good thing is that there are gay people out there revealing themselves to the world. Not pretending to be perfect. Just being true, just being real. That’s what I find most compelling in a podcast and that it what I seek.
