I am finally able to record the story that I was telling you about for the last few weeks.
A touching and empowering story of a mother who embraced two of her sons’ coming out.

    John,

I finally listened to the whole session and I will say it was okay. I was so afraid that I might have said something bad or wrong and knew I couldn’t take it back.
I am sorry that you did not receive any comments.
Thank you for asking me to do this. Keep in touch, take care and God bless.

Irene, thank you for doing the recording. People don’t listen to the shows immediately. Plus, most people don’t comment most of the time.

It was amazing to hear such a story of acceptance and unconditional love. While I never felt unloved by my mother. I never felt a complete acceptance of my lifestyle. Those who listen to my podcast know of the fundamentalist views of the church she so loved. To accept my lifestyle would be to reject all that she had been taught by her church. If the church could be wrong in their condemnation of this lifestyle then what would that say about the foundation of that church? This is why (I believe) it is so difficult for some to accept their gay sons and daughters. There are many who will never change their minds in regard to this issue. Its sad that some have come to accept every word of the bible as the “Word of God”. If we could only recognize that God did not direct his will on the authors of the bible. That their prejudices and lack of understanding of human sexuality resulted in such a hurtful doctrine that has wrought such pain and suffering upon the gay community. I don’t frankly know how anyone can remain faithful to the Christian church. This is where I am at this moment in my life. I look forward to hearing more from Irene in future podcasts. Thank you John for introducing such a wonderful lady and mother.
