I couldn’t agree with you more about single issue voters. They get it wrong. They need to see the bigger picture like you mentioned.

As to stats, since I left libsyn, my stats have tripled. And on my video site I’m getting roughly 2500 downloads per video. It’s wild!

I listen to and have subscribed to Ding Da Bell and love it. Sorry I don’t comment very often though. Still love ya and all your shows!

I’m not concerned Obama does not support gay marriage. The majority of the people of this country do not support gay marriage. It is the Christian religion and other religions throughout this country and the world anti-gay teachings that prevent acceptance of gay marriage. The bible calls homosexuality an abomination. What do you expect of people who believe the bible to be the word of God? Fundamentalists will never change their mind on this issue. To them . . . if God says it is wrong to be gay then it is wrong to be gay! If Obama came out and openly supported gay marriage he’d be crucified. Maybe he accepts every word of the bible or maybe he privately supports gay marriage. We need a liberal in office so to appoint Justices to the US Supreme Court who will support equality under the law. We do not need to elect John McCain who would appoint Justices who are “sticks in the mud”. Things are slowly changing. I should know. I’ve been around for awhile. This country has come a long way. I remember when it was taboo to even talk about this issue. Now we are free to express our views openly and this back and forth communication is key to changing the minds of those who are capable of changing. Time is on our side. It may take another 25 years to reach equality. Or it may take 10. As society becomes more familiar with gays and the issue of equality we will see more substantive change. If we elect dinosaurs like McCain it will take an eternity to see change. Thanks for an interesting podcast John. BTW, I like the new Macbooks. They no longer look cheap. Maybe this income tax refund I’ll finally get around to buying a Macbook or Macbook Pro.

Unfortunately, the reality is a vote for a third party candidate is a vote for the Republican Party candidate. This was true in 2000, and it will be true again in the 2008 elections. However, it is heartbreaking to hear Biden be so dismissive of the gay community after pontificating about equal rights. And I can understand the anger that this arouses in any gay person. When do you say, “enough already” and not settle for anything less than we deserve and have a right to?

Thanks for all your comments. In different words, but we all support a better change. Let’s hope Obama will win. And at least we have some real hope of changing our reputation in this world.

I truly appreciate your opinion. Sorry, I’ve been so slow in responding.
