I don’t know if I’m the only one having this problem: I downloaded this podcast but it’s halfway done, I think the whole podcast is not properly downloaded. Anybody else having the same problem.

    Thanks.

Listener #10 here. Nah! maybe you meant 10,000 listeners, I’m sure there are plenty out there listening to your podcasts.

As you have mentioned, the “uniform” thought process for entertainers, especially here in U.S., is that one should have the total package as expected – beautiful and gorgeous face (and maybe body most of the time), flashy clothes, and outrageous lifestyle. The first impression from judges and audiences when Susan Boyle came out of the stage during her debut in the Birtish American Idol was generally judgmental. This impression all comes down to the famous saying, ” Do not judge a book by its cover”. This cliche isn’t only true in the entertainment world but also applicable to our daily lives, the people we meet and see on our way to work, to the grocery, and other places, and tend to judge them superficially without taking into consideration that “beauty is skin deep”.

Have a great day and week ahead.

I love stories about the “little” people making it big — like Lin Yu, Susan Boyle and even the toothless Missourian! Yay for all of them! Rags to riches stories are the stuff dreams are made of. Personally, I fall into the category of ugly AND no talent — oh well! To all who can make something beautiful with your voice or an instrument — it is a gift — nurture it and use it!

Our gifts don’t always come in only looks and voices. But I definitely agree we should utilize our gifts.

Everyone makes a big deal about Lin Yu and Susan Boyle… yeah, have you seen Lady Gaga’s face? Susan Boyle and Lin Yu should wear crazy outfits and sing while obscuring their faces with wigs, their hands, or makeup.
