Talking about my parents’ visit. We went to Vegas. Saw the Grand Canyon. Cooked a lot. Ate a lot. Laughed a lot. It was such a pleasure to have them here. Tough to part. Technologies helped. They’re proud owners of iPad.
I’m so glad you’re back and it’s good to hear your podcast again.
I’m happy to hear that you had fun touring around with your parents, you are such a nice and loving kid. I’m sure your parents enjoyed the sceneries, shows, food and the “Four Seasons” moments. It reminded me to do bonding time with my parents again, it’s been a while that we took a drive, do an out-of-town, or ate at a restaurant. You are right when you said that we at least have to spend some time with our parents, not only to show our gratitude for nurturing us but also to show that we love them.
I saw Lion King twice now, the first one was in NY and the second was in Vegas; it’s a great show and spectacular costume.
Thank you for sharing your moments with your parents and hope to hear a podcast again soon.
Welcome back John!
I remember visiting the South Rim of the Grand Canyon as a kid. A truely breathtaking view. Never cared much for Vegas though.
My parents are in their 70’s as well so I know very well what you are talking about. Thanks for sharing your parents visit with us. Nice podcast. Have a good weekend.
Catching up on your podcasts, this one touched me deeply John. You have cherished those moments with your parents and I am sure inspired many to do the same. Coming out in my late teens was painful and distanced me from my parents, but when my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a few years ago I adjusted my schedule (and budget) to make sure I visited her every few months and did so until she no longer recognized me. Those visits were precious and I thank my partner whose parents are in Korea for allowing me the space to make those trips. I loved the iPad miracle story. As a former IT guy, I was so frustrated that I couldn’t get my parents to join me in the age of email. Thank you for sharing the lovely moments with your parents.
Patrick, thanks for your comment and for listening. Also for sharing your story. I think we all need a little reminders by outsiders every now and then so that we don’t take things for granted. 🙂
