Show #247 | Duration: 42:12 | 19.6 MB | Mono |

As I’m reaching my third year of podcasting, I’d like to share yet another fascinating personal human story from the, sometimes controversial, Nick Thomas.
Nick Thomas‘s podcast isn’t for everyone, but his honesty and his personal stories really touched me. I am glad to have had the chance to chat with him. And I truly appreciate his willingness to do this despite how uneasy he gets in interview situations like this.

Hey…John, I was planning to listen to your interview with Nick but it says on your player icon “Error in opening file”? Hope to hear it soon.

Hey John….great conversation with Nick. He is correct, I don’t listen to his show anymore. The shock of hearing all the sex did wear off and I got tired of it. I don’t think I’m judging him because I’m not listening. I mean, I was a slut at one point in my life too. And I have nothing against his podcast, I just got tired of hearing the sex stuff over and over. Obviously there are many people who do enjoy this show. Sorry if I came off negative at some point about his show. I’m looking forward to the second part!

    Archerr,
I think I understand your point.
I think at some point or another we as podcasters would have to learn that it is nothing personal, and listening and not listening doesn’t mean anything.
Nick will learn that very soon. And most podcasters went through a period of that, verifications from the listeners.

Enjoyed being on your podcast John despite my initial reservations. Thank you for your kindness and support. It’s obvious that you hear more in my podcast than my occasional talk of sex. 😉 As for Archer’s comments. I don’t listen to his show anymore either. Needless to say it had nothing to do with a lack of sex talk. 😉 At the least I offer an honest portrayal of my life to my listeners. I do not always talk about my sex life as any frequent listener of my podcast can attest. I do not and never have claimed to represent the gay community as a whole. I only wish more podcasters who have chosen to list their podcasts in the PERSONAL journal category of iTunes would offer a true personal journal. I do not mean to imply a need to dwell on one’s sex life. Just more insight into their personal existence. That’s what I find compelling. To suggest that my podcast offers “sex stuff over and over” again is diminishing what I am trying to offer my audience. Granted it is not for every podcast listener, but it allows those who wish to listen to uncensored truth a place in which to do so. There is a wealth of experiences within our community. Not all of it is pretty and sweet. There are some who can learn from the mistakes of others. I’ve made my share of mistakes. I think I’ve been honest enough to acknowledge them here in this interview and in my podcast. We’re really all in this together. This fight for true freedom. That is the promise of those of old. That is my hope for the future. Peace and love to you all.

    Nick,
I applaud your honesty and appreciate your sharing. Keep it up. People appreciate it whether or not they are vocal in their responses.

    Hey John (and Nick).

Great podcast. You guys have good chemistry together, perhaps because your personalitys are so opposite. As a regular listener to both podcasts, I was really looking forward to this interview. Anticipating next weeks conclusion.

    Have a great weekend!

Congrats on your third year anniversary – such an amazing accomplishment!

This was an interesting show – as a fan of Nick’s show and I think it is great that he is able to share with us about his life and if he wants to include his sexual adventures then it is up to him to do so. This is the very reason why I love podcasting so much – you can get a variety of shows on any topic and granted no one is going to like them all.

My only complaint on this show is that John knew that Nick was anxious about being on the show and I am sure the comments like “Are you lonely” and other questions similiar to this probably made Nick uncomfortable and unlikely to come back again to yours or anyone else’s show.
