Sounds like your Steve treated you like my Steve treated me. He wanted to unburden himself on you, but wasn’t interested in listening to your troubles. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Would you be concerned what your friend or ex-friend, Steve, would think of you airing this issue publicly? Do you not think he might be offended by your public comments? Just curious. As for me? When my Steve finally got around to calling me after months in the ether world I told him exactly what I thought. If you know me you can probably guess that I had some direct and pointed comments for his ear. I haven’t heard from Steve since and like I said before – Steve is dead and I could care less if I ever hear from him again. You know the thing that hurts about all this. We’ve known one another for 15 + years. So why all of a sudden did he just disappear? Go listen to my podcasts with my friend, Steve. Everything seemed okay then. WTF happened? Whatever . . .

I guess I didn’t listen carefully enough John. Nevermind.

I would love to join in a conversation with the pioneers of podcasting sometime. That would be great! Congrats on 4 years of podcasting and hitting over 1 million downloads! That’s amazing!

You are completely right about the stats I’m getting on my downloads. Each show gets between 400 to 600 downloads. I looked into the IP addresses and sure enough some of them are bots that download it. So you are correct in not believing the raw number. My stats engine doesn’t filter out multiple downloads from the same IP address or from bots. Unfortunately my hosting service doesn’t offer a more detailed look at my stats. I’m willing to bet that probably close to 200 of those downloads are bogus. Before switching I had between 200 and 400 downloads per podcast so if I look at it that way, I think I have the same number individual listeners as before the switch. Thanks for explaining that. You did a good job.

As to the podcast awards, I think they are a joke…they aren’t voting on content or how well it’s produced, etc. It’s all about how many people you can get to click on a link. They really mean nothing. Just my opinion. 🙂
