Hi John Ong, i’m really agree with what you said about this matter. I always have the same feeling ever since i saw more and more of these videos coming up on FB/social media.And i almost want to post publicly that i dont want to do it but i know it is too sensitive to make negative comment abt this ‘trend’ publicly I dont want to hurt those ASL patient or their family, especially.. but yea..i feel really uncomfortable as what you described.And seriously i only know what is it for until i watched the video as you posted above. maybe the donation helps.. even sometime people donate without knowing how the money will be used.. but it’s alright as long as the people who got the donation do the right things for right people.. but awareness?i doubt so.. how we really care and aware of somethg until it really matter us?of course i dont want everyone come to aware of an illness because of themselve/their family got it *touchwood* but frankly.. how.. things are just so cruel sometimes.. my partner diagnosed LUPUS before we met, he told to me about his experience but not everythg and i sometimes just dont want him to recall these painful experience just because i wanna to know more..and the symptoms of this disease is so different from person to person,so until now i dont even get to fully understand how terrible his condition is last time..i always imagine how scary it is to face these all alone at his age..i wish i to know more actually … but luckily he is doing well now with healthy lifestyle and medication.. and what i can do is to support him as much as i can in his future life i hope.. but yea.. ALS ice bucket challenge, what matter you is ASL or the challenge? =/
