The “T” is last for a reason

I am so disappointed again.

I don’t even know by whom.

ENDA passed the House of Representatives. But without including the transgender community. My heart aches.

When you think about it, many times we can keep our same-sex partner or our sex life outside of our jobs. Many of still do that. But if you are not as lucky to be a passing transgender person, you can’t just keep that quiet.

Shouldn’t we put the T in front of LGBT for ENDA at least?

Sad, but true. I guess the letter “T” is there at the end of LGBT for a reason. We care for them last. I am very sad.

(Of course, I have a feeling that Bush will shoot it down. That’s why we don’t negotiate with scumbags. We should just do what is right. Not just somewhat okay.)

I find it ironic that a non-discrimination bill actually discriminated against the Transgenders that were on the original bill. For it to pass made no sense whatsoever. In a way, it makes everyone who voted yes hypocrites. Very Odd.

Last night we had to leave the theater immediately after the show was over, otherwise I would have said howdy. Avenue Q was a great show.

It is a sad fact John that in the purported “land of the free” the Democrat party does not possess a veto proof majority to make for real change in Washington. What we need is to elect more Democrats in the coming 08 elections, i.e., Senators, Congressional Representatives and YES a democrat President. If the dems can somehow manage this without shooting themselves in the foot we may see the ENDA legislation revived and not only include the Transgendered community but actually pass into law. There are old codgers and moralists who’d like to see a return to the dark ages. I say let us perfect the dream. Make this country truly the land of the free and a shining example for all nations of the world. Perhaps I’m not the pessimist I sometimes seem. A dreamer.
