Ongline Podcast

My first show in the studio since I came back from Malaysia. I’m a bit kelam kabut. But, at least I get to thank those I wanted to thank. If I missed your name, I apologize. This show is really a quick recap of what happened in Malaysia, and to thank everyone.

Show Notes:

Show #9 | Duration: 33:11

I said "I beg for your apology", I meant "I beg for your forgiveness". I really was very kelam kabut with the new audio setup.

Ongline Podcast

It’s been exactly a month since I traveled home to Malaysia. Now that I’m back again to Kansas City, I’ve been trying to put together a show of all the audio memos and podcast recording pieces I did in Malaysia. Here’s an edited piece of my way home and a get-together with some friends. Thanks to all who are listening to the show here on the web and those who subscribed to it. And definitely thanks to those who so generously entertained me when I was in Malaysia. Take care.

  • Congrats to Kelvin & Jo Suen on your marriage. It was such an honor for me to be a part of your wedding. I’ll treasure that opportunity forever.
  • Kwang Hun, as usual, my best friend and my god-brother, thanks for all the fun and rides you shared. And Fong Ling, thanks for sharing your hubby.
  • Kok Kuan, Hong, Kar Eng: Thanks for the fun karaoke sessions!
  • All my brother’s friends who were in the Special Edition of Podcast.
  • All my cousins! Thanks!
  • Alex from Boleh Rojak Pod. Thanks for the ride and the chat. Very nice to meet a fellow Malaysian podcaster.
  • Friends from primary school and high school both in KL and Penang: Thanks for keeping in touch, and your effort of coming back in touch with me. I truly appreciate your friendships.
  • All of you have made this trip of mine to Malaysia one of the best ones.

Tsunami Relief Funds

Ongline Podcast

Sorry for the rough production of my shows lately. I’m in Penang, and I’m only having a very limited amount of time and internet access. I visit any Hotspot locations every time I can, but I’m hoping to get my parents’ DSL set up this coming Monday.

While waiting for that, I thought I should just post a quick message to everyone listening to the show to please donate generously to the tsunami relief funds. You can do your own research as to which to donate to, or follow the links below.

I felt like I have the obligation to at least spread the word, and pledge for your donations personally since I’m here in Penang, one of the places hit by the tsunami.

Take care and stay safe (and I’m doing just that).

Safe in Penang

Thank you everyone who wrote and called to ask about my well being and my loved ones’.

I am doing fine here in Penang. I am not too much affected by the tsunami. But did see some of the destructions personally. It was very bad.

I haven’t been able to get Wifi for the last few days. I have applied for my parents a new DSL line. That’s still in the process (just like Adam Curry), I’m going through major broadband withdrawal. I’m here, (just like Adam Curry, again) in a Starbucks, sucking down all the broadband juice. Hurray! It’s only RM19 for a 30-day access prepaid card. Not bad at all. The only problem is, I have to go to various coffee houses to hunt for the Hotspots. But that’s better than dial up.

I will try to post some audio clips once I find the time to do so, and once I have broadband at home.

Also, thanks for those who wrote to my Gmail account. I can officially say that I have some fans now. People from all over, Melbourne, Netherlands, Malaysia, and so forth. I’ll comment about that later.

In the mean time, thanks to all those who are thinking about me. I’m safe, and am enjoying my friends and family.

(In fact, I’m typing this post in the company of one of my nephews, Marcus, at a Starbucks in the Prangin Mall)

Podcast circle

Hello everyone. I am sorry I am unable to find time to do a show. I just now started getting ready for my big trip back to Malaysia. I’m leaving this Friday, and I haven’t really packed much yet. The big suitcase is full already, and non of the stuff is mine. I’m going to have to add another suitcase if I want any clothing at all. Perhaps I could just go back and shop for everything!

Anyway, I’d just like to mention that you can hear my voice on Coverville’s 32nd episode, “My Favorite Cover Countdown 2004”.

Plus, my song Langit Biru Kita was featured in a fellow podcaster, and fellow Malaysian’s podcast Boleh Rojak Pod.

It’s amazing how fast the podcast circle is expanding. And that’s a very good thing. (Oh, I miss my Martha)

Ongline Podcast #6 (12/8/2004)

(((Ongline Podcast )))

I have been thinking about a phone setup for a while now. Last week, I finally dropped into Radio Shack to look around. I found what I needed, I bought a few adapters and went home to try it out. This is show is for me to test out my phone setup. I called a few people, non of them can chat. Finally when I got my cousin, Catherine in Malaysia, she could talk, but my setup on Skype is not working. I ended up stopping the show and just chat with her for a long time. I might have to do some of the recordings on my MiniDisc recorder. We’ll see.

Found Kin

Thanks to the internet, today, I found the blog of a high school friend. It’s nice to see his pictures and read his blog entries.

I hope that more of my friends would have their own blogs, and for those who has one, please let me know.

If you’re interested, my brother blog is Blah Blah Blog, and my friend, Kin’s blog is Kin’s Blog.

This is probably one of the best ways to keep in touch with friends. Especially now that podcasting is growing so rapidly, everyone can almost have their own podcast. It’d even be more intimate than writing. However, there are times when writing is more appropriate.

Henry, if you’re reading this, you should start your own blog. I’ll be more than happy to help you set one up. Now you just have to get your wireless card on your computer.

Friends… send me your link if you have a blog.

I thought I wasn’t going to have time to do a show today. Well, I did, tonight, at around 10PM. No guests this week, but I manage to talk a lot by myself. About what’s coming up for the holiday, a bit about my trip back to my home town, Penang, and thanks to those who wrote me after they’ve heard the shows.
