Ongline Podcast #4 (11/28/2004)

Ongline Podcast

This week, I’m lucky enough to have my Japanese V.I.P. guest, Maiko Taneda with me in my studio. Since this show is mostly in English, I am not going to break out every segment. I hope you’ll enjoy this show. Please drop me a note if you’re listening to the show, I just want to find out how many people this show is reaching out to. Send me an email (follow the link to the right), leave me a message on my voicemail (you can call anytime, 24 hours a day, it’s just a voicemail, not a phone), or leave a comment on my blog. Thanks!!

More Fantanas

This Halloween has been the most fun and special one for me. Other than involving myself with my brother’s idea of dressing up as the Fantanas, which we spent countless late nights, and my Mom worked so hard to get our costumes sewn, I also get to spend a great autumn with my parents. And most of all seeing my parents having so much fun dressing up as well as giving out candies to the trick-or-treaters.

I have been putting off posting some of our Halloween pictures. Tonight when I was having dinner with Melissa, Bruce, my brother, and Lisa at Sushi Station in Lawrence, Kansas, I realized that if I don’t post them now, pretty soon it will be Thanksgiving. And before we know it, it will be Christmas! So, here it is, my Halloween 2004 Photo Album. Click on the picture below to go to my .Mac page for the album.

I don’t think I need to say much. Just watch the video.
It was the most involved and all out Halloween ever for me.
We spent many hours on the costumes, yes, we actually made every single piece of the costume. A few friends, I, and my mom (especially) sewed the costumes.
We all had a great time.

Ongline Podcast #1 (11/4/2004)

Finally at 1:10am 11/5/2004, I have my first podcast show uploaded.
I started on Thursday night, and only got it done the next day.
But I’m glad it’s up. I hope you’ll find it fun to listen to. Just my way of keeping in touch with my friends and family. A more intimiate way of telling you about what’s going on with my life.

Enjoy.

NOTE: I just realized I said “he” for Gretchen. Bruce is going to tease me about it again. Okay I have problems with pronouns. Because in the Chinese langauge and dialects, there is no difference. Excuses, excuses. Ok, I messed up. One of the many mess-ups. But hey, it’s all for fun.

Back to normal Part 1

Today is the first day waking up without my parents in town, or in the house. I already miss them immensely, and even my cat Tach? was looking for them this morning. Listen to what I have to say today.

Audblog has a limitation on the length of the recording (I think), so I have two from the same trip to work.

(1) Ongline Podcast

Back to normal Part 2

Then, there’s this, a continuation from my first one.

(2) Ongline Podcast

I really hope this would get to all my friends and family, and even just regular Podcast listeners out there. I know my target audience is very specific due to the language choices I made for my Podcast show. But, hey, that’s the true reflection of who I am. That’s the whole point of Ongline Podcast.

I hope soon, I’ll be producing the show in my home studio rather than over the phone. Bare with me. Thanks!

First AudBlog

My first audblog here on my own blog.
I’m exploring the possibility of turning my audioblog into my own Podcast show. Something that I have been wanting to do for a while. But never good enough and have enough money. But with podcasting, I can actually start doing my own audio programming with what I already have.
Once the tech side is up and ready, I can go into actually producing the show.
But before it turns into a show, the post would just be me calling into Audioblogger.com and leave my thoughts.

Here’s my first audblog (techically second, the first one was a test):

Boo!

A few days ago, my parents came over to our house. Mom made
yummy ?lobak? (thin bean curd sheet wrapped in pork, five spice and onions,
then deep fried) and fried wonton.

After that, I set up a couple of folding tables out in the
garage for my parents and brother to carve their pumpkins.

Dad has always been the artistic one. But has never
celebrated Halloween nor carved a pumpkin. He was very excited this project.
After picking out a template from a book, he started tracing it onto the
pumpkin. He chose the Witch template. My
mom was helping a bit too. My brother picked the Spider template.

While they are carving, I was roasting the pumpkin seeds. My
mom enjoys the seeds most.

I?m so happy that the get to experience some fall activities
during this visit. I hope they?d get to experience winter too, but so far, both
of them are not quite ready for snow and very cold climate! Well, then again,
I?m not quite ready for it yet too.
