I Know What You Did Last RAYA

I couldn’t help but laughed out LOUD!!

Now I want to see if I can find that movie. Perhaps I can have my brother buy it for me when he goes back to Malaysia this summer.

Backup Backup Backup

I’m usually on my laptop when I post my blog entry or my podcast. But today, I’m not. I using my work computer now. My hard drive in my laptop died yesterday.

I’m not sure how many of you reading this actually backup your information on your hard drive?

I didn’t use to. I just started doing that about 6 months ago. And boy, was I lucky. I skipped a month when I went back to Malaysia, and I’m a couple of months behind. But at least, something is there for me to back to. If my hard drive were to die 6 months ago, I would be banging my head into the wall!

I also backup my data file to my address book, browser bookmarks and settings, and my Quicken data file everyday through my iDisk (.Mac service by Apple), so those items were backed up, as current as February 14th. Phew!

It will still be a hassle when my computer comes back from the shop. But at least, I’m not starting from scratch.

Three words of advice: “Backup, backup, backup.”

Gong Xi Fa Cai

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone, my cousins, my friends, both near and far, my brother, sister, brother-in-law, Mabel, Marcus, Malcolm, and Matthew. Hope you’ll have a blessed and prosperous new year. May this new year bring you more peace, love, luck, and of course, good fortune (have to throw that in, being Chinese).

It is usually during these types of festivities that make me miss home, mostly the people… and food.

Podcast circle

Hello everyone. I am sorry I am unable to find time to do a show. I just now started getting ready for my big trip back to Malaysia. I’m leaving this Friday, and I haven’t really packed much yet. The big suitcase is full already, and non of the stuff is mine. I’m going to have to add another suitcase if I want any clothing at all. Perhaps I could just go back and shop for everything!

Anyway, I’d just like to mention that you can hear my voice on Coverville’s 32nd episode, “My Favorite Cover Countdown 2004”.

Plus, my song Langit Biru Kita was featured in a fellow podcaster, and fellow Malaysian’s podcast Boleh Rojak Pod.

It’s amazing how fast the podcast circle is expanding. And that’s a very good thing. (Oh, I miss my Martha)

Found Kin

Thanks to the internet, today, I found the blog of a high school friend. It’s nice to see his pictures and read his blog entries.

I hope that more of my friends would have their own blogs, and for those who has one, please let me know.

If you’re interested, my brother blog is Blah Blah Blog, and my friend, Kin’s blog is Kin’s Blog.

This is probably one of the best ways to keep in touch with friends. Especially now that podcasting is growing so rapidly, everyone can almost have their own podcast. It’d even be more intimate than writing. However, there are times when writing is more appropriate.

Henry, if you’re reading this, you should start your own blog. I’ll be more than happy to help you set one up. Now you just have to get your wireless card on your computer.

Friends… send me your link if you have a blog.

More Fantanas

This Halloween has been the most fun and special one for me. Other than involving myself with my brother’s idea of dressing up as the Fantanas, which we spent countless late nights, and my Mom worked so hard to get our costumes sewn, I also get to spend a great autumn with my parents. And most of all seeing my parents having so much fun dressing up as well as giving out candies to the trick-or-treaters.

I have been putting off posting some of our Halloween pictures. Tonight when I was having dinner with Melissa, Bruce, my brother, and Lisa at Sushi Station in Lawrence, Kansas, I realized that if I don’t post them now, pretty soon it will be Thanksgiving. And before we know it, it will be Christmas! So, here it is, my Halloween 2004 Photo Album. Click on the picture below to go to my .Mac page for the album.

Fantanas Invade!

I don’t think I need to say much. Just watch the video.
It was the most involved and all out Halloween ever for me.
We spent many hours on the costumes, yes, we actually made every single piece of the costume. A few friends, I, and my mom (especially) sewed the costumes.
We all had a great time.

Boo!

A few days ago, my parents came over to our house. Mom made
yummy ?lobak? (thin bean curd sheet wrapped in pork, five spice and onions,
then deep fried) and fried wonton.

After that, I set up a couple of folding tables out in the
garage for my parents and brother to carve their pumpkins.

Dad has always been the artistic one. But has never
celebrated Halloween nor carved a pumpkin. He was very excited this project.
After picking out a template from a book, he started tracing it onto the
pumpkin. He chose the Witch template. My
mom was helping a bit too. My brother picked the Spider template.

While they are carving, I was roasting the pumpkin seeds. My
mom enjoys the seeds most.

I?m so happy that the get to experience some fall activities
during this visit. I hope they?d get to experience winter too, but so far, both
of them are not quite ready for snow and very cold climate! Well, then again,
I?m not quite ready for it yet too.
